Begining of January

When the first week of the first month of the year creeps by, our hearts and minds are full of aspirations from our resolutions. We set goals and hoping that it will be achieved in the year end.

My resolution this year is pretty simple. Change. In every form possible. I have not been the nicest chick on the block the past year, but with this in mind, I hope in god's will that I will be able to achieve my aspirations. I hope that I am able to put bitterness aside and replace it with love. That is my uttmost resolution.

Bitterness, it is a common effect in all of us. Why do we greed for selfishness and jealousy?
In the quran, Allah forbids us to hate one another and spread love. Sometimes I ponder, why do women have the agile ability to be bitter than the men? Can't we women behave as civil as most men and care less about the jealousy surrounding our selfish selves? Women for a fact, are not as receptive as men. We take every comment, every word, seriously. Every moment means a great deal to us. But if only negativity were'nt an issue, we would be as tough as men. Women have a nature of soft-heartedness, that is why we do take everything seriously. When I was in high school, I have dated several boys and I took all of them very seriously but my relationships did not last very long for each date because I was too serious. The individuals known as men or boys hate seriousness. Why do we women follow our hearts too much when it comes to negativity?
We should relax a little and say a prayer if we have to. Saying thanks and recite a line or two from the quran is not a difficult task. Trust me, once you put your mind to it, amd relax, it will go away in god's will.

Therefore my main aim for the year is to willingly channel as much energy I have into positive thinking and cleanse my bitterness. Insyaallah

Ralph Waldo Emerson who was a poet, lecturer and a philosopher once said,
"For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness."

That is something all of us should mull over.
