Feeling 22

Life with a big belly has never been better. I try to get hold  and strengthen my inner self and wisdom by constantly thinking of Allah swt. It gave me time to reflect and be closer to him than I've ever been. F and I are having constant heart to heart conversations on faith and constantly guiding one another, alhamdullilah. Spiritually, it has been terrific but still yet imperfect. Nevertheless, I am truly blessed.

Mentally, I feel like a whole whirlwind of emotions. I may feel happy and angry at the same time. Or even sad all of a sudden. It feels strange. But I guess perhaps it is the hormonal imbalance.

Me and F are always speaking and reciting to my belly, hoping that the lil one hears us. It was a little tough at first as we did not know what to say but it just came naturally after all. Feeling the small little kicks in my belly are just sensational. It was surreal seeing and feeling it at the same time. Sometimes, this kicks could last up to an hour. And I am enjoying every single bit of it.

Having to relax is the most important part of pregnancy they say, and yes, they or whoever that was that said that, was right. Keeping myself busy with yoga and walking helped my mind to relax and not think about anything else except for the baby and I. Prenatal yoga has been helpful with my body and I feel a whole lot better after every session.

There are still alot of unanswered questions in mine and F's minds about my pregnancy, our baby, our life after birth etc. Whatever it is, I am glad that F is beside me all the time, always encouraging and giving me strength. They say that the husband is always extra nice when you are pregnant, that is definitely undebatable.

22 weeks now and I have never felt better. I have passed my halfway mark of pregnancy and hoping that I will continue to have a safe pregnancy onward, insyaallah. After 22, this is what I and F have gathered from our experience during or before pregnancy started.

1. Never Stress.

Stress causes hormonal imbalance and may lead to depression. When you are stress, your body definitely feels it too.

2. Eat well.

Eating everything in moderation is key. Try not to practice the "eating for two" rule. Your diet will define how much nutrients you take for both you and your baby. Eating too much of something may not be healthy, so here is a quick guide I got off Pinterest.

3. Stay active.

Your fitness level will define how much you will lose after giving birth. Not that you have to lift weights or anything. Just do some walking, swimming and biking will do. Prenatal yoga and prenatal pilates helps too. These activities are less risky. Just remember to consult your gynaecologist before going into anything.

4. Always remember Allah swt.

Always remember where you came from and your creator. Praying five times a day, reciting the quran daily and constant du'as are a start. Insyaallah, you will be safe in His guidance.

And yes, Hello 22.
